Looklyn

About

Looklyn is an affable slab with a non-tradition serif weight distribution.

Its extra-thin vertical serifs balance the weight of the body stroke, which creates a nice thick-and-thin rhythm that some other slab typefaces don’t usually have.

The skeleton is geometric and structural, while the open diagonals, such as A, K, V, W, Y, etc are based on handwritten strokes. This hybrid of an architectural skeleton and humanist characteristic gives the typeface a contemporary yet approachable quality.

Looklyn is available in five weights and their corresponding italics.

Art Book
Looklyn is a contemporary slab serif typeface with a geometric foundation and a distinctive serif rhythm. Its most notable feature is the unconventional weight distribution: extra-thin vertical serifs paired with bold horizontal strokes create a lively contrast and a unique thick-and-thin texture rarely seen in slab designs.
The letterforms are built on a structural skeleton, but softened with open diagonals and subtle humanist touches inspired by handwritten strokes—especially in letters like A, K, V, and Y. This blend of architectural precision and organic gestures gives Looklyn a warm, approachable personality within a modern typographic framework.
Available in five weights—Light, Book, Medium, Bold, and Black—across both uprights and italics, Looklyn offers a total of 10 styles. Its balanced proportions and rhythmic construction make it well-suited for branding, editorial layouts, logotypes, and packaging where both structure and friendliness are key.
